PGA Professional and Part-Time Golf Manager

I have been a PGA Professional since 1997 and graduated with distinction in 2002.  I turned Professional in 1989 after a successful amateur career.  In 1985 – 86 I had the honour of representing England.  I competed on many tours including the European tour, Challenge tour, Futures tour and MasterCard tour.

However over the last 20 years I have concentrated on playing on the PGA in England East Region with considerable success.  I have recently played some events on the Senior Masters tour.

My PGA career has taken me to many Golf clubs, Grim’s Dyke as Club Professional, Wyke Green as Head Assistant, North Middlesex as Head Assistant and Mount Pleasant as Head Professional.

The last four years I have been working in the retail area of the Golf Industry.  I spent two years with Direct Golf UK and the last two years working for American Golf.

My passion lies in coaching the game of golf.  There is nothing better than helping people reach their potential.  I remain dedicated to helping people improve their game.

My role at Cambridge Meridian Golf Club is as Head PGA Professional and part of the management structure on a part time basis.

I will be in the Pro Shop area three days a week on Monday, Thursday and Saturday mornings.  Other times I will be available for coaching.  You can find my coaching diary in the Pro Shop or you can make an enquiry on my website, which is also linked to Cambridge Meridian Golf Clubs website.  My website is www.gdk.golf.

I am looking forward to working at Cambridge Meridian Golf Club and integrating with all sections of the club and welcoming visitors, societies and corporate members alike.  I will be playing in some ProAms in England East region and also on the Seniors Masters tour.  If you would like to be part of my team for any events, do not hesitate to contact me.  Next year’s ProAm schedule will be on my website www.gdk.golf or on the PGA Info East Region page.

I will be introducing a MOT equipment check soon.  This is free of charge.  This will take roughly ten minutes and I will check to see if your clubs are suitable for you.  I.e. loft and lie angle and length of shafts.  The grip on the club is very important, so the check covers making sure your grips are not shiny or too thick or thin for your hand size.  The wrong grips will lead to offline shots.

I hope this gives you a short outline of my career and services I am providing at Cambridge Meridian.

Any questions do not hesitate to contact me.
