Seniors Report

Mon 05 Aug 2013

Cambridge Meridian Seniors have enjoyed another successful year in our matches against other clubs, we remained unbeaten at home.

Our overall results for the year were; played 20, won 12, drew 3 and lost 5. Whilst winning is important our philosophy is that all those who wish to represent the Club in our friendly marches will be given the opportunity throughout the season.

This year culminated in the Senior Captains / Charity Day. The event was held to raise funds for the Seve Ballesteros Foundation. It was established prior to Seve's tragic death in 2011. The Foundations works in partnership with Cancer Research UK to raise funds for brain cancer research. The event was a great success, 78 golfers took part a number of whom came from neighbouring clubs. The total raised on the day was an impressive £1420.

I would of course wish to thank the Club Owners and Club Committee for there help during my year as captain. I would also like to thank the seniors committee for all their hard work and the members for contributing so much to my year. A special thank you must go to Guy Heard and I wish him well in his year as Captain in 2013.
